Happy Fourth and Best Wishes to the Ogden!

July 4, 2008

The Ogden Museum opened its new satellite museum in Florida yesterday.  The Times-Picayune’s article on the new venture included some great photos showcasing the wall color (Kiwi), which is from our new Ogden Museum Palette!  (The new Ogden Palette is available through the museum and proceeds from each sale go towards the Ogden Museum of Southern Art.)

The Ogden is an affiliate of the University of New Orleans and the Smithsonian.  This is the first satellite of the New Orleans-based museum which is considered the largest and most comprehensive collection of Southern art in the world. Established in 1994, the Ogden Museum grew from the purchase of one piece of artwork in 1966 to an extensive private collection, to a traveling exhibit, to what it is today.

Wishing everyone a happy 4th of July and my brother, Ric, a happy birthday!

We’ll be back to our regular hours Monday, July 7th.
