And you don’t even have to leave town!

October 19, 2005

The photo shoot with Southern Accents Magazine couldn’t have gone better. The photographer they sent was a beautiful young woman, Kerri McCaffety, one of New Orleans’ many “displaced citizens”. Kerri has been living in Atlanta since Katrina, working on a book on the history of chandeliers.

While I could tell from the compositions she put together she was talented, I had no idea just HOW talented until I received an email from her this morning with a link to her website. As it turns out, she’s photographed and written several of my favorite books! Visiting her website is a feast for the eyes: http://www.kerrimccaffetyphoto.com/

Also, her two most recent books are wildly popular and would make great Christmas gifts: OBITUARY COCKTAIL: The Great Saloons of New Orleans and St. Joseph Altars. As it turns out, I’m familiar with all of her books but just didn’t connect the name!
